01 Designer

A weld drawing ready for your WPS

A pipe-to-plate joint, dimensions, three numbered beads and a weld symbol. Watch the video to see how the whole drawing is made in Designer.

Pipe-to-plate joint with three numbered beads, dimensions ⌀D1, t1 and t2, and an a5 weld symbol, as shown in the video
  1. 01

    Put the joint together

Parametric plates, pipes, bars, profiles and reinforcement. Add the welds parametrically in the same way.

  2. 02

    Add the documentation detail

Automatic dimensions from picked edges, numbered beads and the weld symbol to ISO 2553 or AWS A2.4.

  3. 03

    Use the result

Download the weld preparation and the welding sequence as PNG and paste them into your WPS document.

Can I get this output in the trial?

The Designer trial has limited features and adds a watermark to exported drawings. You need a paid licence for output without a watermark.

Is this a CAD import?

No. The drawing is made with Designer's own objects; nothing was imported.

03 WPS

A document you can judge as a professional

The structure of the document, the inserted drawing, the link to the WPQR and the output, on a model fillet weld of aluminium tubes.

  1. 01

    Enter the data

The WPS editor guides you through the fields and fills in base materials, filler materials and other details from your databases.

  2. 02

    Add the drawing

Draw the joint in the built-in Designer, no exported file in between.

  3. 03

    Check the coverage

The editor suggests a suitable WPQR for the WPS you are creating and checks its parameters against the linked WPQR ranges in real time.

  4. 04

    Print and find it again

Export the document to PDF and find it later in the automatically kept list.
